This is a permissions setting within Windows Vista. |
The software CD needs to be in your computer in order to run the software, this is a security measure that we have put in place in order to prevent fraudulent activities. We do also provide a USB Cryptic Key (Dongle) license solution for classes or multiple computers in which the software needs to be running on all systems at once. |

Some keyboards have the ability to turn off what is called Local control. Check the documentation that came with your keyboard to see if local control can be turned off. This is the most effective fix for this problem. |

This is sometimes caused when the 'MIDI' instrument synthesis of your sound card is not loud enough compared to the 'WAV' volume. Look for the Windows speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen, and double-click it. You should see a mixer with several columns, one of them being 'wav' volume, and the other being 'MIDI' volume. Try lowering the wave setting, increasing the 'MIDI' setting, and turning up your speaker volume on the speakers themselves. |
Version 2.5 is no longer supported, and will not work on XP or Vista. A patch can be downloaded that will update the software to run on XP (the patch is equivalent to ver. 2.66). |

Most Keyboards connect via USB, which will normally be detected and installed as soon as you plug in the keyboard. If not then make sure all the driver software is installed for the keyboard, restart the PC and connect your keyboard. |
